With a more toned-down approach to glitz and glamour than its full-on neighbouring Emirate of Dubai, Oman is the perfect escape to unwind and rebalance mind and spirit, without sacrificing style and luxury.
His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos has promoted low-rise architecture in the capital city Muscat, complementing the serene feel, which is juxtaposed perfectly with the vibrancy and lively banter of the souk and the fish market.
Venturing away from the architectural grandeur of the city, there is much to discover across the vast expanses of desert and rugged mountain ranges. Not forgetting Oman offers superb diving opportunities and the revitalising, natural splendour of a coastline, punctuated with deserted islands – perfect for short sailing sorties, and viewing opportunities for marine wildlife from Spinner and Bottlenose Dolphins, Devil and Eagle Rays, and large populations of Turtles.
Brelade understands that our clients want to return from their trips refreshed and reinvigorated – we create interesting and diverse itineraries whilst keeping the pace relaxed and standard high – just like the illustration below.

Guests are greeted at Muscat International Airport where they will be provided with a luxury 4x4 rental car for use during their visit. After a short drive to the Chedi Hotel, a tour of the city has been arranged to include a stroll along the famous Corniche, taking in the sights of the Mohammed Al Ameen Mosque and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque.
Lunch is served at the Al Angham Restaurant, which offers a very high stand of traditional cuisine in opulent surroundings, followed by a visit to the Royal Opera House a short distance away.
Back at The Chedi, guests can unwind in the spa, before dinner prepared in one of this country's finest kitchens, sampling sundowners at the bar, sipping cocktails and taking in the views across the Gulf.
Guests are served an early breakfast, before driving 150 miles to Jebel Sham, Mountain of Sun, in the north eastern region of the country.
Take in the amazing vistas stretching out across Wadi Nakhr, Arabia’s Grand Canyon before 'walking the rim', on one of the most memorable day-hikes this part of the world has to offer.
Luxurious accommodation awaits guests at the mountain-top Alila Jabal Akhdar Hotel, ranked in the top seven places to stay in the Middle East, along with a well-deserved, sumptuous dinner at the hotel restaurant offering spectacular views over the magnificent scenery.
An early breakfast allows guests to depart just before sunrise. The leisurely drive back to the coast is an amazing vista of silent film shapes and shadows as the road weaves its way ahead, and the ball of fire rises in the sky.
Arriving back in Muscat, guests head to the marina to board a luxury private yacht and cast off for the Al-Dimaniyat Islands, a Nature Reserve famous for it’s cool, crystal-clear water and colonies of turtles.
Swim, snorkel and relax. Dine on food cooked over an open fire and sleep in opulent tented accommodation on your own uninhabited island.
Guests can enjoy a relaxed breakfast, a stroll along the deserted beach or swim - savouring everything these islands have to offer before returning to the mainland and their return flight home.
We look forward to hearing all about your trip and we'll be here when you are ready to make the call and book your next mini-adventure.
